Where you come in?
The broker platform is the core technology that drives success at Ki. Our multi‑disciplined team includes software and data engineering, full stack development, platform operations, algorithm research, and data science. We deliver high‑impact features through an iterative, analytical approach.
Responsibilities
* Build robust and scalable software for business‑critical, web‑based applications
* Build eye‑catching, functional, efficient, and reusable web and mobile sites that drive these applications
* Design, build, test, document and maintain APIs and integrations
* Ensure quality control using industry‑standard techniques such as automated testing, pair programming, and code review
* Work with Product to understand end‑user requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions
* Document technical design and analysis work
* Assess current system architecture and identify opportunities for growth and improvement
* Build mock‑ups or prototypes to explore and troubleshoot new initiatives
* Collaborate with Product and UX designers to review designs, implement new features, and ensure top‑level user experience
* Explore new ideas and emerging technologies, and develop prototypes quickly
* Uphold and advance the engineering team’s principles and ways of working
* Serve as a domain expert for one or more of Ki’s core technologies
* Mentor and coach colleagues in engineering and business domains
Qualifications
* Mid‑senior level engineer with experience across a modern web stack
* Proven software engineering principles (SOLID, DRY, ER modelling)
* Professional experience with a server‑side language, preferably JVM‑based
* Professional experience building SPA using React/Typescript or an equivalent
* Knowledge of front‑end development; able to build rich UIs following responsive design
* Experience with HTML/CSS, including layout, specificity, cross‑browser compatibility, and accessibility
* Comfortable working with cloud infrastructure, IaC, logging and monitoring tools
* Experience with continuous integration and/or continuous delivery
* Strong familiarity with build tools (e.g. Maven) and version control tools (e.g. Git/Github)
* Experience working in agile teams, following Scrum or Kanban, and participating in regular ceremonies
* Experience using project management and workflow tools (e.g. Jira)
* Previous experience in financial markets, FinTech or InsurTech is preferable
