Responsibilities
* Operate finishing equipment, ancillary equipment and their associated quality and control systems safely and with due regard to the environment.
* Undergo any training required by the Finishing department to ensure cover is provided when required (this could cover all Finishing roles).
* Once trained, ensure output targets are met.
* Understand quality requirements of each job and ensure these are met, highlighting any issues in a timely manner.
* Display competence in spoil accounting, labeling of Nonconforming product.
* Ensure that all equipment and machinery is safe and in a clean state and that working areas are free from obstruction.
* Manage tasks with awareness of physical demands (manual handling).
* Adhere to Portals values and behaviours, participate in the performance development review (PDR) process, and maintain up-to-date records of training and development activities.
Qualifications and Experience
* Good basic education to include GCSEs or equivalent.
* Good analytical skills.
* Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively within the Department and with other Departments.
* Good organisational skills to schedule workload to meet production schedules.
* Understanding of targets and KPIs.
* Ability to maintain accurate records in both electronic and hard copy formats as required.
* Operational/Manufacturing experience preferred.
