Overview
A personal assistant is required to support an enthusiastic 14‑year‑old young person with Level 2 Autism living in the Camelford area. The role involves building a positive relationship and providing 1:1 support, modelling and supporting learning of social and life skills when out in the community. The individual enjoys swimming and water activities, is creative, enjoys Lego, and has a wide variety of interests. A personal assistant will allow the young person to enjoy activities in their local community.
Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 support and build a positive relationship.
* Model and support learning of social and life skills in community settings.
* Accompany the young person to activities such as swimming, water activities, and other community events.
Schedule & Compensation
Up to 5 hours per week, flexible with some weekend and school holiday availability required. Pay is £12.60 per hour.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Some knowledge or personal experience of working with young people is essential.
* Full driving licence desirable.
* Enhanced DBS check required; the administration will be undertaken by Cornwall Council.
