The role:

We are seeking an experienced Draughtsperson to support our engineering team by producing accurate CAD drawings and technical documentation across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems. Reporting to the Engineering Director you will be responsible for translating 3D design reviews into detailed 2D drawings for manufacture while collaborating on a range of projects.

Salary:

Up to £35,000 p/a with relevant experience

Key responsibilities:

* Prepare 2D CAD drawings to BS8888 for manufacture with some 3D CAD
* Create fabrication drawings, assembly details and bills of materials
* Apply GD&T and tolerance stacks
* Revise and update drawings based on feedback
* Contribute to electrical and hydraulic schematics
* Maintain drawing files, registers and revision control
* Apply drafting standards and industry codes
* Collaborate with engineers, managers and suppliers
* Engage in training, mentoring and professional development

Qualifications and experience:

* Degree qualified (BSc or BEng) in a relevant field
* At least five years of drafting or design experience using GD&T
* Proficient with CAD software (Inventor preferred, AutoCAD or SolidWorks acceptable)
* Understanding of mechanical principles with interest in manufacturing, electrical and hydraulic systems

* Organised and able to manage multiple tasks with supervision
* Strong communicator and team player
* Proactive learner with interest in mechanical and manufacturing processes

Work conditions:

Office based with occasional visits to workshop, suppliers or client sites. Four day week (Mon to Thurs, 09:00 to 17:00). Training and mentoring provided by the Engineering Director and wider team.
