An opportunity has arisen for an HGV Mechanic to join a well‑established waste management company specialising in skip hire services for both residential and commercial clients. As an HGV Mechanic, you will carry out maintenance, fault diagnosis and repairs on heavy goods vehicles and associated machinery. This is a full‑time permanent role offering a competitive salary and benefits. They will consider semi‑or fully qualified candidates.
Responsibilities
* Perform routine servicing, safety checks and preventative maintenance on HGVs and related plant.
* Identify mechanical issues and utilising diagnostic tools where required.
* Repair or replace components to minimise operational disruption.
* Keep accurate records of completed work and parts used.
* Work safely and maintain an organised, compliant workshop.
* Support colleagues to uphold high standards across the team.
Qualifications
* Previously worked as an HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician, HGV Fitter, Truck Technician, Trailer technician, Truck Mechanic, Trailer Mechanic or in a similar role.
* Ideally have 2 years of experience.
* Sound knowledge of mechanical systems, with exposure to hydraulics, pneumatics or electrical components (preferred).
* Strong analytical approach with a focus on accuracy and quality.
* Comfortable working independently as well as within a team‑based setting.
