Chief Nurse - Director of Quality and Professions

About Us
A specialist NHS Foundation Trust providing community, mental health and learning disability services for Barnsley, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield, and a lead provider for the west Yorkshire secure provider collaborative.
Responsibilities
* Provide visible professional leadership to nursing, allied health and psychological professions, ensuring strong governance and shaping the Trust’s strategic direction as part of the executive team.
* Lead clinical governance, clinical safety and quality improvement, working with the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Operating Officer to deliver services in line with the Trust’s vision, mission and values.
* Act as executive lead for safeguarding adults and children, patient safety, patient experience, infection prevention and control, professional development and training, and partnership with the Care Quality Commission.
* Support the development of an open, engaging and inclusive culture for service users and staff, promoting excellence in clinical practice, team working and multidisciplinary care.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse.
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge and skills through experience.
* Master’s degree or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through experience.
Experience
* Extensive senior management experience in the NHS or similar complex environment, including working with Boards.
* Extensive experience and successful track record in the leadership and management of clinical and/or nursing services.
* Evidence of commitment to the promotion of service user and carer‑led initiatives.
* High‑level experience of compliance and quality governance systems and their application to NHS organisations.
* Extensive experience in partnership working across complex integrated health and care systems.
* Experience of working with regulatory bodies such as the CQC and OFSTED.
Training
* Up‑to‑date professional registration.
* Evidence of relevant continuous personal and professional development.
Other Requirements
The post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. A Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required. Candidates must hold current UK professional registration. All employees are strongly encouraged to be fully vaccinated against COVID‑19 to protect patients.
