About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join a dynamic Secondary Alternative Provision school in Blackburn. This long-term supply role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students, assisting them in reaching their full potential through a tailored and holistic approach to learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with challenging behaviour, adapting activities to meet individual needs.
* Assist in the development and implementation of individual behaviour plans.
* Monitor and record student behaviour and progress, reporting back to the SENCO or teaching staff.
* Support students in social and emotional development.
* Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all children.
* Adapt teaching styles appropriately to students' individual needs and interests to facilitate enjoyable and effective learning experiences.
* Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a safe and comfortable learning environment.
* Establish professional relationships with pupils and interact with them according to their individual needs.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour.
* A caring, patient, and empathetic approach, with a strong commitment to supporting students with behavioural needs.
* Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with teachers, healthcare professionals, and families.
* Relevant qualifications in education, care, or SEND support are desirable but not essential.
* A willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and training.
