Are you looking to develop a Dermatology leader? You could be our new Clinical Nurse Specialist ! This is a role for a confident Dermatology Nurse, with the skills and experience to lead community clinics across Coventry. You will be comfortable working independently in prescribing clinics and in carrying out minor operations, punch biopsies, curettage, shave and simple excisions. You will enjoy working with a diverse caseload, providing specialist advice, assessment and support to patients and their families across the community. A key aspect of this role includes responsibility for patients receiving Disease Modifying Antirheumatic Drugs ( DMARDs ). You will oversee blood monitoring processes—issuing and reviewing relevant blood forms, interpreting results within departmental protocols, and escalating concerns to the consultant team as needed. Timely coordination of prescriptions will be a core responsibility, requiring excellent time management and digital literacy. You will use a variety of digital systems to track results, document communications, and manage prescribing tasks. You will also act as a key point of contact for patients and their families, communicating effectively by phone and building strong therapeutic relationships. Previous experience with DMARD monitoring is desirable but not essential for this role and we are happy to provide full support and training around this. As a growing leader, you will work closely with our Service Manager and Lead Nurse to shape and develop the community Dermatology service. You will contribute to MDT discussions to drive continuous improvement. You will role model high-quality, evidence-based care through your own nursing practice and promote these values through your compassionate leadership. Your skills and background Essential: NMC Level 1 Registered Nurse Non-Medical Independent Prescriber (V300) Specialist training in Dermatology-specific assessment and treatment Extensive clinical experience relevant to community Dermatology This role can be offered on a full time or part time basis and will include the opportunity for home working. The independent nature of the role lends itself to flexibility and will allow you to shape the way you want work.
