Test and Assembly Technician – Christchurch, UK
The Test and Assembly Technician will operate under minimal supervision, following process instructions, drawings, and test and repair schedules to assemble, test, and repair products and customer returns to meet quality management and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Assemble components into a final configured product using drawing instructions, blueprints, specialized tooling, fixtures, measuring equipment, and hand tools.
- Repair and test product according to test procedures, drawings, specialized tooling and fixtures, incorporating engineering change notices as required.
- Stage-inspect product at specified intervals to verify accuracy of work.
- Provide training and support to others when required.
- Comply with all health and safety requirements.
- Perform work to current standard routines and quality management system.
- Maintain 6S standards in the work area.
- Perform routine minor maintenance on equipment.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Support problem solving in small groups.
Qualifications
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- Relevant experience in electronic/pneumatics engineering and electrical/mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment and/or appropriate qualification(s).
- Working knowledge of MRP systems.
- Relevant experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Detail-oriented in both technical and administrative tasks.
- Manual dexterity and good hand/eye coordination.
- Ability to operate, maintain, and conduct basic troubleshooting on various types of machinery and equipment.
- Good time management, communication (both written and verbal) and numerical skills.
