A Little More About Your Role… We are looking for a Consultant who has experience in the delivery of flood risk assessment projects to work collaboratively on technically complex projects for a range of clients. Working as part of our national team, the successful candidate will also be able to work seamlessly across other technical areas within the Sustainable Water Management team, including flood risk modelling, LLFA technical services and flood management solutions; as well as other water environment technical areas including Water EIA, WFD assessment, permitting applications, geomorphology and BNG. You will contribute to a diverse range of projects, with the main focus likely to be Flood Risk Assessment for major infrastructure projects in the UK and overseas, and wider involvement in flood modelling, flood management and Water EIA as appropriate to experience. You will also mentor junior team members and share your technical expertise.
Responsibilities
* Undertake / perform project tasks assigned by senior team members, including:
o Carry out flood risk assessments and prepare deliverables
o Support complementary projects and develop skills in areas such as sustainable drainage design, planning application reviews, Local Flood Risk Management Strategies, permitting applications, and environmental assessments
o Carry out site surveys to collect baseline information and support Section 19 investigations
o Take leadership of certain project management activities including financial and programme management
* Communicate and liaise effectively with the project team (Sustainable Water Management team and the wider business)
* Work collaboratively within the team and proactively support junior staff in developing their technical knowledge
Qualifications
* A degree in a relevant environmental, geographical, science or engineering discipline is essential
* Actively working towards chartered status with C.WEM, CEnv, CSci or CEng
