Sexual Offence Examiner - Darlaston, West Mids
The role of SOE is critical in providing victims of sexual assault with dedicated support and care.
We're seeking caring and compassionate RN's, Midwives, RMNs, or Paramedics to join us as Sexual Offence Examiners, providing holistic care and support to victims of sexual assault.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities include:
* Conducting forensic examinations and obtaining forensic exhibits.
* Developing forensic strategies according to FFLM guidelines.
* Collaborating with external MDTs and police.
* Serving as the first point of contact for victims, police, and social services regarding referral pathways.
* Managing and promoting the self-referral pathway.
* Undertaking holistic assessments, including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding.
* Supporting continuous quality improvement of the service.
* Working in compliance with the Forensic Science Regulator's requirements.
* Obtaining consent for health and forensic procedures.

Job responsibilities
Location: The Willow Tree SARC, Darlaston, West Midlands
Additional Locations: West Midlands Region
Salary: £45,155.33 FTE based on 42 hours/week
Shift hours: 12-hour shifts, 7 am to 7 pm
Full-time: 42 hours/week

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Qualified Registered Nurse, Midwife, or Paramedic
* Applications from females only due to the nature of the role, under the Sex Discrimination Act
* UK driving license and access to a vehicle, as travel across SARCs may be required
* Enhanced DBS and police vetting required
Experience
* Minimum 3+ years relevant post-qualification experience
* Knowledge of safeguarding children and adults
* Understanding of confidentiality
* Autonomous working experience
* Experience working with individuals with complex needs, in settings like Gynae, Emergency Department, Sexual Health
