About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work alongside teachers and SEN staff to provide essential classroom and one-to-one support. You’ll play a key role in helping pupils overcome learning barriers, manage behaviour effectively, and engage positively in lessons. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys making a real difference in pupils’ educational and personal development.
Responsibilities
* Support pupils with additional learning needs in both classroom and one-to-one settings
* Assist teachers with lesson delivery, ensuring activities are accessible and inclusive
* Encourage independence and confidence through structured guidance and positive reinforcement
* Implement behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques when needed
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to deliver consistent, high-quality support
* Assist with personal care tasks where appropriate
Qualifications
* Experience supporting children or young people with SEN or learning difficulties
* Understanding of individual learning plans and differentiated support
* Strong communication and behaviour management skills
* A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children’s development
* Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
