HLTA VACANCY - PORTSMOUTH (PO2)\n\nProspero Teaching are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our client Primary School based in Brighton (BN1). Within this role, you will be working across all year groups from Pre-School to Year 6. If you're an experienced LSA/TA and keen to take the next step by achieving your HLTA qualification, we'd love to hear from you too!\n\nJob Details:\n\nLocation: Brighton (BN1)\nStart Date: September 2025\nContract Type: Full-time\nPay Rate: Minimum £16 per hour\nHours: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm (may vary) \n\nWe're looking for someone who:\n\nHas experience supporting children's learning, development, interaction, and communication needs.\nThrives on building strong relationships with children, colleagues, and parents through excellent communication skills.\nWorks effectively as a team player while being confident working independently when required.\nIs flexible and ready to step into the classroom at short notice when staff absences arise.\nDemonstrates initiative, proactivity, and a keen understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.\nIs confident covering PPA across the school, including our Pre-School, and can plan tailored support for individual children's needs.
\n\nYour role will include:\n\nLeading whole-class sessions in the absence of the class teacher.\nUsing specialist skills to enhance pupils' learning experiences.\nCollaborating with teachers on lesson planning and personalised learning provisions.\nObserving and evaluating pupils' responses and progress during activities.\nImplementing curriculum programmes at the whole-class level and addressing pupil needs without direct supervision.\nAssisting in the creation of engaging learning environments and ensuring alignment with school, national, and statutory policies. \n\nEligibility:\n\nRight to work in the UK.\nHold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).\nProvide two professional child-related references. \n\nWhat Prospero Teaching Offers:\n\nAccess to free, accredited CPD courses, including safeguarding and behaviour management.\nSupport from our in-house Training and Development Team.
