Role and responsibilities
* As a Rotating Nurse, you will thrive in a diverse and multidisciplinary referral environment, working across Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, Wards, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Cardiology and Imaging.
* Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve a wide range of tasks such as monitoring sedations/anaesthetics; providing exceptional inpatient care; assisting with imaging procedures (x-ray/ultrasound/CT/MRI); contributing to transfusion medicine; supporting diagnostic procedures; and managing admits/discharges.
* You will also be involved in drug calculations, fluid calculations, and CRI administration.

Pride Veterinary Referrals is equipped with industry leading facilities and advanced diagnostic tools, ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care. Our facilities include:
* 13 consultation rooms
* 7 hospital wards
* 5 theatres
* Comprehensive imaging suite with CT, MRI and digital x-ray
* 3 ultrasound rooms
* Endoscopy suite
* Hydrotherapy pool and treadmills
* Dedicated chemo and radio-iodine treatment rooms
* Large, air-conditioned in-patient wards meeting high RCVS and ISFM standards
* Dedicated canine and feline procedure rooms for examinations and minor procedures away from other patients
Our large and experienced team provides access to leading-edge specialist knowledge and an advanced and varied caseload, supporting the development of clinical skills in a friendly and supportive culture.
Applicant requirements
To succeed in this role, you must be a qualified RVN, ideally with at least 1 year of post-graduation experience, as some aspects of the role involve independent work. Experience of working in a hospital is required. Any additional qualifications, such as certificates, are advantageous, and you should be able to demonstrate clinical competence in standard nursing protocols.
Working pattern
Our Rotating Nurse will work on average 38hrs/week, over a 4-day working week. You will usually cover a mix of 08:00-17:30, 08:30-18:00 and 08:30-19:00 shifts during the week, plus a 1:6 weekend rota in our wards department (Saturday & Sunday, 07:45-18:00). Approximately 1 Friday in every 8 weeks, you will cover the Twilight shift which is a 3pm-12am + on-call for the rest of the evening, supplemented as overtime if called out.
