Location: Field-based – covering South East Thames Valley & Home Counties.
Hours: 38 hours/week. (Mon–Fri, 07:30–15:36).
Join us at Thames Water as a Network Metering Electrical Technician in a full-time, permanent role.
You will play a key part in maintaining and repairing district and zonal meters, as well as critical pressure points, ensuring the reliability of our water network reporting systems.
What you will be doing as a Network Metering Electrical Technician
* Carry out both proactive and reactive maintenance on our electrical network equipment, including meters, critical pressure points, Bulk Meters and logging.
* Review the technical history of assets to plan and carry out a suitable maintenance strategy.
* Always be aware of the impact of your technical decisions on work being carried out on the network, as well as how customers, internal and external, are affected.
* Working with field teams and the control function to determine the cause of water supply issues.
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:
* Relevant qualifications such as ONC/HNC, NVQ, BTEC, or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
* Hands‑on experience with electrical instrumentation.
* Familiarity with SCADA systems and the ability to learn bespoke software.
* Strong communication skills, comfortable interacting with both colleagues and the public.
* A proactive, self‑motivated attitude with strong organisational skills.
* A full and clean UK driving licence is essential.
