Overview
Solicitor or Equivalent (Clinical Negligence Grade C - Leeds). Join Fletchers Group as a Grade C Solicitor (or equivalent) within the Clinical Negligence team. This position is located in Leeds with hybrid working (in-office and home-based as appropriate).
Responsibilities
* Accountable for running an individual caseload in clinical negligence matters, from inception through to trial where applicable.
* Provide support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to clients.
* Contribute to proactive and commercial case management and progression across the team.
* Support the Team Leader/Head of Department in ensuring delivery of the team’s financial and performance KPIs.
* Record time accurately and maintain thorough documentation of casework.
* Discuss and agree case tactics and planning with the Team Leader/Head of Department and team members.
* Identify and drive cases ready for LOC, settlement, and service within the team; ensure information is collected to progress cases.
* Manage a caseload proactively and coordinate progression with internal and external parties.
* Draft legal documentation including LOC and letters of instruction; negotiate settlements and manage proceedings as required; oversee team correspondence and documentation.
* Advise and support the team on technical issues arising from cases, with guidance from the Team Leader/Head of Department.
Qualifications and Ideal Candidate
* Recent experience handling a caseload in clinical negligence.
* Newly Qualifed to 5 years PQE or equivalent experience in clinical negligence.
* Excellent organisational, time management, communication and drafting skills.
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Proclaim and Excel; high attention to detail.
* Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment; ability to coach and mentor junior team members.
* Flexible and committed to achieving results and meeting deadlines; excellent client care skills.
