Offer description

Overview

The Cancer Pharmacist Team at UHDB has a long-standing reputation for proactive and innovative work, effective use of cutting-edge technology, and responsiveness to implementing new treatments into the Trust. The team operates across multiple sites with true collaborative cross-site working, providing exceptional care to patients undergoing chemotherapy in outpatient and inpatient settings. The team includes non-medical prescribers who support clinicians in chemotherapy clinics, independently prescribing SACT, managing toxicities, and advising patients. Their contribution has reduced clinician workload, waiting times, and improved patient experience. The Trust recognises the team’s significant impact on cancer care delivery and continues to invest in maintaining excellent care.

The successful post holders will operate within a hybrid-role model, combining traditional pharmacist duties with non-medical prescribing, with 0.5 WTE dedicated to each aspect of the role. This is a cross-site post; successful post holders will be expected to work across Royal Derby Hospital and Queens Burton Hospital as required.
