We are looking for a new team member to join our small and friendly Occupational Health Team. You must be: - A Registered Nurse on the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) Register. We welcome: - People new to occupational health (Grade 8 training role) - People already working in occupational health (Grade 9) Helpful Experience Experience in any of the areas below would be useful. You do not need all of them. - Accident & Emergency (A&E) nursing - Practice nursing - Public health - Infection control - Psychological health - Mental health and wellbeing - Learning about relevant health and safety laws - Managing sickness absence - Supporting staff with long‑term or chronic health conditions - Supporting neurodivergent staff Communication Skills; communication is important in this role, and you will need to: - Write clearly - Speak clearly - Build trust with clients, colleagues and managers - Work well with many different types of people About the Team The Occupational Health Team is led by specialist nurses. The team provides support across the Council, including schools and academies. Our work includes: - Assessing sickness absence and capability - Carrying out health surveillance - Giving health advice to managers and employees You will work closely with: - Employees - Line managers - Human Resources (HR) What the Role Supports The aim of the role is to: - Support good health at work - Prevent work‑related health problems - Encourage healthy lifestyles - Improve working conditions - Understand how work affects health - Understand how health affects work - Help deliver the Council’s Health, Safety & Wellbeing Strategy Opportunities This is a varied role.
