Job Overview
Are you passionate about children\'s continence and part of developing an expanding Tier 2 Community Children\'s Specialist Continence Service working across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland? If so, we are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable registered nurse with experience in managing children\'s continence and with excellent communication and team working skills.
This post is for 22.5 hours per week.
If so, our friendly team are looking forward to welcoming and supporting enthusiastic registered nurses with an interest and experience in promoting and managing children\'s continence.
You will provide specialist clinical skills and knowledge to children/young people, (CYP), parents/carers; professional and non-professional staff across health and other providers, such as education, to support the promotion of bladder and bowel health and function and the management of incontinence.

Job Description Summary (Main Duties And Responsibility)
The successful candidate will use specialist clinical skills and knowledge to support the continence needs of children/young people across Leicester City, County and Rutland. The role will include triaging referrals and identifying appropriate pathways of support and intervention on an individualised needs basis for children/young people with complex continence needs or who may require specialist interventions to achieve and maintain optimal bladder and bowel function.
The role will include leadership responsibilities to manage, develop, co-ordinate and enhance the role of clinical staff within the Specialist Children\'s Continence Service, whilst monitoring and evaluating the continence services provided within the community, ensuring the delivery of quality outcomes and managing risk.
* Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of evidenced based care to a group of patients according to changing healthcare needs and varying levels of complexity.
* To provide continence advice and management to parents, carers and those who work with children and young people with continence issues, through clinical practice, teaching, research and development, as part of an integrated team.
* To be responsible for continuing the on-going development of high standards of clinical practice and expertise within the service contributing to implementation of specific changes to practice and service protocols and making a professional contribution to the work of a multi-disciplinary team
* To ensure CYP with complex continence needs or who may require specialist interventions are supported to achieve and maintain optimal bladder and bowel function including the management of chronic idiopathic constipation.
* To ensure CYP with complex continence needs or who may require specialist interventions, have their continence needs reviewed in a range of community settings including the family home, school, residential homes and clinics and plans of care are implemented and supported.
