Main duties of the job
AMaintenance Assistant at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust supports theupkeep of hospital facilities by performing routine and non-routinemaintenance, minor repairs, and assisting in more complex engineering tasks.Responsibilities include maintenance, PAT testing, TMV adjustments,Legionella checks, and nurse call handset repairs, depending on training. Job responsibilities
Perform routine and non-routine maintenanceand minor repairs independently.
Conduct complex tasks such as HydrotherapyPool Maintenance, PAT Testing, TMV Testing, Legionella Checks, and Nurse CallHandset Repairs with proper training.
Assist in various trade tasks and completedaily building and engineering maintenance.
Plan and troubleshoot maintenance work fortimely completion.
Support senior staff in repairs and newwork.
Use the Works Management System forrecord-keeping and audits.
Assist in surveys for maintenance,alterations, or improvements.
Operate forklifts, road vehicles, andhydraulic lifts with training.
Aid in new staff/apprentice induction andshare expertise.
Use and manipulate relevant tools safely.
Demonstrate basic safety practices.
Cover for the storekeeper as needed.
Carry communication devices for urgentrequests and emergencies.
Participate in on-call/shift rotas asrequired.
Respond to alarms (e.g., fire, MRI, lifttrappings) and supervise passenger releases.
Maintain, repair, and adjust traction andwheelchair equipment alongside medical staff.
Perform other duties as assigned withinrole scope.

Experience
* Ability to communicate both verbally and by reading and writing.
* Substantial relevant experience having demonstrated high versatility and flexibility

* Knowledge of various Health and Safety legislation as applicable to core trade, ensuring the well being of staff, patients
