An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Officer to join Salford City Council’s Procurement Team. As a Procurement Officer, you will support the Category team whilst leading on your own portfolio of procurement projects across a range of category areas.
Duties will include;
* Leading on delivery procurement activity for the Council as directed by the Senior Procurement Manager
* Supporting Category Managers in the development of category strategies
* Providing advice on options appraisals, tendering strategy, evaluation, and management of contracts
* Ensuring compliance to all relevant procurement policies and procedures
* Assisting in the delivery of the social value agenda
* Leading on day-to-day operational tasks
* Developing and managing cost down exercises
* Continuously seek improvements in effectiveness, value for money and quality procurement
Person:
The successful Procurement Officer:
* Experience procuring both goods and services in either a Public or Private Sector environment
* Working towards CIPS is desirable
* Ability to manage multiple projects at once
