Role Overview
The post holder will be responsible for providing specialist knowledge and advice, demonstrating a sound understanding of the issues relating to the identification, assessment, and treatment management for the patient group. They will assess, plan, and implement effective care of patients under the care of the Major Revision and Bone Infection Service, utilising and developing their skills across a variety of settings, working as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
* Be a clinical specialist in the field of revision arthroplasty and bone infection and have the skills to empower others in clinical practice.
* Offer an advisory role in the specialty of revision arthroplasty and bone infection, supporting health professionals, patients, and carers.
* Engage directly with consultants, medical staff, and all members of the multidisciplinary team in the management of bone infection patients, working across professional and organisational boundaries to provide a comprehensive patient‑focused service.
* Be responsible for supporting the Advanced Clinical Practitioner in running nurse‑led services and clinics that support bone infection patients in their treatment pathway.
* Act as an educational resource to all members of the MDT and the wider Trust, and facilitate the development of nurses and healthcare staff to improve the bone infection patients’ experience.
