All applicants are subject to satisfactory references and all employees are checked against the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS). CareTech are proud to announce they are a Disability Confident Leader.

Senior Team Leader Role

As the new Senior Team Leader, you will be emotionally strong and driven to make a difference day to day. Most importantly, you will get to really understand our children and their backgrounds, ensuring that their needs are at the centre of everything we do. You will be approachable, detailed, and ensure that our children’s safety is assured at all times, and that all protocols and regulations are fully adhered to.

You will work in unpredictable hours, spending the morning organising activities and the afternoon providing 1:1 support. We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic, flexible and caring people to join our team across the region to continue improving the lives of the young people within our care.

Responsibilities

* Lead shifts and deputise for the Registered Manager where required.
* Ensure that our team of Residential Care Workers are up to date with mandatory learning and assist with their individual development.

* Maintain accurate written records in logs, continuation sheets and files to enable regular monitoring and evaluation.
* Contribute to team and staff meetings to facilitate good communication and staff development.
* Provide support and care to the young people within our services.
* Encourage young people in preparation to re-enter education or engage in their current schooling.
* Travel with young people to and from school or college.
* Prepare food at meal times and maintain the home (cleaning, laundry, etc.) to ensure a wonderful environment.
* Organise and facilitate social activities.
* Support young people across mixed ages and genders, helping them succeed academically and socially.

Training, Development & Benefits

* Training and Development Plans to meet your individual needs, including NVQs and career progression opportunities.
* 28 Days Holiday inclusive of Bank Holidays, increasing with service.
* Paid Sickness Leave.
* Additional Overtime/On-Call/Sleep-in/Disturbance Rates.
* Casual Dress Code.
* Company Pension.
* Simply Health linked to service.
* Days out and activity days off-site.
* Management Development Programme to progress from Support Worker to Registered Manager and beyond.

Shift Pattern

16>24 Hour (including Sleep-in) on a one on two off or two on four off basis.

Requirements

* Must hold a full UK driving licence.
* Must desire to earn a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent within the Children & Younger Peoples workforce.
* 12 months experience working in a residential setting is highly desirable, but applications from those at the start of their journey are encouraged.
* DBS and reference checking will be undertaken in line with government regulations and safer recruitment best practice.

Whilst we endeavour to keep the recruitment process short, the nature of these important checks may extend processing time.
