We’re recruiting Registered Nurses and other registered healthcare professionals for a hybrid PIP Functional Assessor role based in Hitchin. This role supports Personal Independence Payment (PIP) assessments and offers a structured, professional alternative to frontline clinical work. This role is open to: Nurses (RGN / RMN / RNLD) Physiotherapists Occupational Therapists Paramedics Pharmacists This is a full-time or part-time, Monday to Friday role with predictable hours, structured assessments, and no shift work. You’ll work in a supportive assessment environment with pre-booked appointments, generous consultation times, and full paid training. There is no treatment, no prescribing, and no manual handling. The role focuses on assessment, clinical reasoning, and professional report writing. You will split your time between home working and the local Hitchin assessment centre (typically 2 days per week onsite). You will: Conduct detailed clinical conversations using professional judgement Review medical evidence and supporting documentation Produce clear, objective, evidence-based assessment reports Use secure digital systems and clinical templates Provide reports that support formal benefit decision-making No hands-on treatment. No prescribing. No on-call work. No manual handling. What you’ll need You must be registered as one of the following: Nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) with NMC Physiotherapist with HCPC Occupational Therapist with HCPC Paramedic with HCPC Pharmacist with GPhC Plus: At least 12 months post-registration experience Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills Confidence with report writing and IT systems Ability to work to deadlines in a structured environment You must have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
