Thrive Recruitment Group is working with schools across Devon and Cornwall to recruit dedicated Student Wellbeing & Inclusion Mentors to support pupils who need additional guidance to fully access education.
This role is ideal for someone who understands that for some young people, success begins with trust, emotional support, and consistency.
Responsibilities
* Identify and support pupils experiencing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
* Identify and support pupils with SEN or SEMH needs.
* Identify and support pupils with low confidence or school disengagement.
* Identify and support pupils at risk of exclusion or difficulty with transitions.
* Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring support.
* Help pupils regulate emotions and develop positive behaviours.
* Support engagement in learning and classroom participation.
* Work alongside teachers and SENCOs to implement tailored support plans.
* Promote inclusion and a positive school culture.
* Support reintegration and transition back into mainstream learning.
* Monitor progress and provide feedback to school staff.
Qualifications
* Have experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN or SEMH needs.
* Be patient, calm, and non-judgmental.
* Be able to build rapport quickly and communicate effectively.
* Be confident working independently and collaboratively.
* Hold a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential for travel between schools).
* Have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or are willing to apply).
