Annuity Investments Structuring Senior Manager
Salary between £90,000 and £120,000
This is a great job for someone with exceptional investment structuring and/or investment actuarial skills, preferably with life company experience. The individual will apply their deep technical understanding in investment structuring and asset specific actuarial analysis to originate transactions that are optimised for a UK life company Solvency II balance-sheet.
A bit about the job:
The individual will be supported by the team's analysts, and work under the supervision of the Head of Private Assets. Key tasks to include:
* Identifying and driving forward, with other actuarial and finance teams, opportunities to develop and improve the actuarial assumptions for existing and new asset classes.
* Advancing our thinking on how to better manage long-term liquidity needs within the annuity portfolio through improving quantitative analysis and delivering investment ideas to optimise liquidity requirements.
* Working with banks and asset managers to design securitisation and structuring solutions that help originate innovative new asset classes for the annuity balance-sheet, examples include CLOs and RMBS.
* Working with other actuarial and finance teams to drive insights on asset focused regulatory changes; and asset focused strategic actuarial projects and to identify approaches to optimise ratings of back-book and new business assets.
* Designing and developing improved tools and models to help with the above tasks.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* High quality, quantitative degree(s) with a preference for a professional qualification
* Preference for deep experience in a investment focused capital initiatives in a Life insurance company and/or structuring / securitisation of assets to deliver more balance-sheet optimal asset classes
* Ability to create effective models and tools in Excel/VBA, and preferably a coding language like Python or Matlab
* A team-player with a hands-on, proactive approach and an ability to drive forward change and build effective internal networks to deliver results, including a demonstrated ability to prioritise competing projects and keep multiple initiatives running
* A demonstrated ability to manage and influence key stakeholders including an ability to write clear, well-structured and easily understood documents and present them to committees
