Although you will be an autonomous practitioner, you will be required to work closely with the diabetes specialist nurse team, the diabetologists, nutrition team and other AHP colleagues.
Our Dietetics team is strongly committed to team working, maintaining high standards of care, innovation and continued professional development. We support student training and provide P1, P2 and P3 placements.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and skilled Dietitian to further develop their skills in clinical dietetics.
Main duties of the job
This is a hands-on paediatric dietetics role, where no two days are quite the same. You’ll manage your own varied paediatric caseload, supporting children and their carers who are at risk of malnutrition, require oral nutrition support or are established on home enteral feeding as well as supporting children with Diabetes
Your work will include:
·Seeing patients in outpatient clinics within the hospital setting and community settings including school clinics
·Carrying out domiciliary visits in patients’ own homes.
·Delivering practical, patient-centred dietetic care in real-life settings
·Working closely with MDT colleagues across both hospital and community services
Hours and contract
Permanent, full-time role. 37.5 hours per week, worked over 5 days.
Hospital base: Royal Preston hospital
You’ll need to be confident working independently, organised, and must be able to travel.

We’re a small, friendly and motivated paediatric Dietetics team who genuinely support one another. The team sits alongside the large acute dietetics service which comprises a team of experienced Registered Dietitians, Dietetic Support workers and administrative staff.

Qualifications and Education
Essential criteria
1. HPC Registration
2. Degree/Post Grad Degree in nutrition and Dietetics
Desirable criteria
3. Member of the British Dietetic Association
4. Working towards a Master’s degree level modules
5. Evidence of CPD in relevant specialist area of Paediatrics
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
6. Range of clinical dietetic skills from rotational Band 5 post
7. Proven varied experience of rotational posts
8. Experience in the NHS as a Dietitian
9. Supervision of Dietetic support workers
10. Experience of MDT working
11. Experience at Dietetic student training
Desirable criteria
12. Knowledge & Experience
