We are on the hunt for a multi-skilled social designer/art director who understands trends and wants to get ahead of the game with their social skills. Being a foodie would also help.
You understand the platforms, have your templates ready to go and know how to make your audience stop scrolling through great ideas and eye-catching visuals.
Reporting to our Creative Studio Lead, alongside our Social Media Manager, you will join a team of creatives within our in-house studio that also includes art directors, recipe writers, animators, videographers, designers, photographers, developers and more.
THIS IS THE BIT WHERE WE DESCRIBE YOU:
You are a social native who ensures every post is trend-ready while designing on-brand and creative visuals. You understand how to art direct a shoot, know how to get the best out of people, and know the acute differences between a and a .
You’re a problem solver, brief grabber and someone who wants to inspire our customers to shop at Ocado by getting into their TikTok feed.
You can plan a content calendar, have an eye for style and know how to write a caption that’ll have people reading right till the end. And you’re passionate about pushing the boundaries and want to engage our followers in new and exciting ways.
You know how to make something stand out and inspire a shoot while growing brand love.
With at least three years of experience, you’re an ambassador for our brand values.
You work with teams to think about the customer journey from awareness to consideration and bring it all together, considering every touch point. You collate ideas and share them with the team before presenting them to the wider business.
Overall, you thrive by bringing people together, collaborating and inspiring.
WHAT DOES THE DAY-TO-DAY FEEL LIKE?
Each day is different at Ocado as we are a young company with tons of ambition to change the world of online shopping. We don’t have physical stores, so we have to grab people's attention in the digital world. This means that one day, you could be posting scary suppers for a Halloween campaign and the next day creating a social proposition to promote our electric vans.
Briefs are provided by the content marketing and paid social team, and it’s your job to interpret, build upon and challenge these before the work begins in kickoffs.
You then work closely with photographers, videographers, art directors and the marketing team to create content for the social calendar. Content that meets the strategy and gets our customers to love us so much more.
We’re an in-house team, with a whole organisation relying on us to get things done, so we need you to be professional, self-motivated and dependable too. We need you to present ideas, to not be afraid of suggesting something new and to make collaboration the heart of it all. Our studio is filled with talented people who want to do outstanding work.

THESE ARE THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
14. Social media specialism. Great understanding of social channels and how they perform, as well as how to create content in order to do so.
15. Strategy. You get social strategy and best practices and are willing to share and implement.
16. Design skills. You know how to put together social posts using Adobe Express or any program you’re used to.
17. Art direction skills. Youcan put together references, direct a shoot and bring something to life visually.
18. Digital channel expertise. Our world is digital; print and out of home is a small part of our overall mix. You’ll need to understand how to create brilliant social-first, digital-first, mobile-first campaigns.
19. Paid Social. These will also be on your radar so knowing how to repurpose assets, create acquisition-driving comms and being platform first will work in your favour.
20. Basic photography skills. You know how to take a photo and do a light edit on the go, making it ready to be posted as soon as possible.
21. Usability and accessibility. Understand the needs of the customer and create content that will put us at the top of mind.
22. Presentation skills. Use scamps, mood boards and other presentation material to present your work to colleagues and/or business partners.
23. Team-first. Partner with a copywriter, take ownership of projects and work across teams and with Leads to ensure that the concepts come to life by following through on what was presented and approved.
24. Alignment. Share and align creative ideas, concepts and campaigns with team members and leads before presenting them.
25. Brand guardianship. Ensure that all work adheres to our brand guidelines.
26. Meet business objectives. Understand what business owners are asking for and translate that into commercial, powerful, creative solutions. Act in the best interests of Ocado and its customers at all times.
