We’re supporting a leading civil engineering business in Kent who are looking for an Estimator to join their Earthworks and Infrastructure division. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with at least 2 years’ experience in civil engineering estimating to contribute to varied projects and develop their career further.
The Role
As an Estimator, you will play a key role in the pre‑construction phase, preparing accurate cost estimates, assisting with tender submissions, and supporting project managers in delivering profitable projects. You’ll work closely with the bid team and site staff, gaining exposure to a range of earthworks and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for earthworks and infrastructure projects.
* Analyse drawings, specifications, and project requirements to produce cost plans.
* Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to obtain rates and quotes.
* Support tender submissions, ensuring proposals are complete and compliant.
* Maintain cost databases and track historic project costs for benchmarking.
* Work closely with project managers to support budget management and value engineering.
About You
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in estimating civil engineering, earthworks, or infrastructure projects.
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
* Proficient in estimating software and MS Office (Excel essential).
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Proactive, commercially aware, and able to work collaboratively across teams.
