Our client is known for their glamourous occasion wear. They are looking for a Garment Technologist to join their team in Manchester.
Working closely with Senior Garment Technologists and other teams you will help to ensure garments meet the brands specifications and critical path.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Create detailed technical packs outlining fabric, trims, measurements, and construction details
2. Partner with pattern makers to develop and adjust patterns while preparing workbooks.
3. Oversee sample creation, review fit and construction, and recommend improvements.
4. Participate in fit sessions to ensure garments meet high standards and maintain key measurements.
5. Manage production processes to meet quality standards, deadlines, and cost requirements.
6. Identify and resolve issues with garment construction, fabric, or machinery during production.
7. Work with production managers and manufacturers to set and monitor production schedules for on-time delivery.
8. Track shipment timelines and maintain regular communication with suppliers to meet deadlines.
9. Conduct quality inspections on samples and finished garments to ensure they align with standards and specifications.
10. Approve size specifications for bulk production and provide clear feedback on fit to suppliers.
11. Address high-return styles, collaborate with the product team on solutions, and support resolution initiatives.
We are looking for someone with experience as a Garment Technologist, expertise in measuring, grading, and leading fit sessions, and proficiency in Excel, Illustrator, and PowerPoint. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with a proactive and team-oriented approach, are required.
