Fantastic opportunity for an Senior Electrical Engineer to join our client's maintenance team on a critical site in Exeter! You'll be joining a market leader within commercial property maintenance, guaranteed training, opportunities to progress internally and valuable work satisfaction!
For this Senior Electrical Engineer role, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of M&E maintenance engineers, provide technical support, act as the site's Electrical Authorised Person (AP), carry out PPM and reactive maintenance, and ensure all electrical systems are running efficiently.
To be successful for this role, you must be fully qualified in Electrical Installations / Engineering (C&G / NVQ / EAL or equivalent), at least 3 years experience in commercial building maintenance, live in commutable distance to site and have the ability to lead a team.
Senior Electrical Engineer Duties:
* Perform Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on critical electrical and mechanical systems
* Conduct High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) isolations and switching operations in compliance with site safety procedures
* Operate and maintain Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, standby generators, HV/LV infrastructure, and precision cooling systems
* Monitor and control Building Management Systems (BMS) and SCADA systems to ensure stable and efficient plant operations
* Carry out daily plant checks, scheduled inspections, and comprehensive fault diagnostics
* Support the creation and execution of switching schedules, ensuring strict adherence to safety standards
* Collaborate with shift teams to respond to system alarms, equipment failures, and operational escalations
* Maintain accurate records, including operational logs, work permits, and statutory documentation
Senior Electrical Engineer Requirements:
* Fully qualified in Electrical Installations / Engineering (C&G / NVQ / EAL or equivalent)
* At least 3 years experience in commercial building maintenance
* Live in commutable distance to site
* Ability to lead a team.
Salary and Package:
* £42,000 per annum
* Electrical Authorised Person training (AP)
* Shift pattern, 5s and 3s (Early, late and night shifts)
