Location:Head Office Elland - Halifax, with some mobile work across the UK
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5pm
Purpose of the role:
The Technical Trainer at Terberg DTS plays a critical role in the development and delivery of training programmes for engineers, ensuring they meet both internal and external qualifications, including IRTEC certifications. This role is responsible for supporting the creation of training content, delivering training aligned with the engineer learning pathways, and managing the accreditation process throughout the engineer journey.
Additionally, the role involves delivering training to non-technical employees, such as Controllers, to enhance their understanding of technical concepts and improve their interactions with engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with technical teams to create high-quality training content for a variety of engineering pathways.
Support the development of training materials, ensuring they are clear, accurate, and up to date.
Provide technical training to engineers at each stage of their pathway, including onboarding, refresher training, and ongoing professional development.
Deliver training on internal assessments, IRTEC external qualifications, and other relevant technical standards.
Support the training and accreditation process for engineers, ensuring all stages are properly assessed and completed, including external IRTEC qualifications.
Develop and deliver comprehensive onboarding training for new engineers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge for success.
Create and maintain a structured learning schedule for engineers within the first 12 months of employment, ensuring ongoing learning and refresher courses.
Continuously review and update all training content to ensure it reflects the most current information, processes, and best practices.
Work with subject matter experts to update and refine training materials as necessary.
Deliver technical training to non-technical employees, helping them better understand engineering concepts and technical processes.
To work with all departments, particularly with projects that are being explored or implemented.
Undertake any other duties consistent with the purpose of this job or to support the needs of the business.

Critical Knowledge Required:
Knowledge of best practices in training delivery, with the ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs.
Experience in creating and developing training content, including process mapping and instructional writing.
Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, tools, and practices.
Good knowledge of other Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint Teams.
Qualifications and Experience required:
Proven experience in technical training, particularly within the engineering or manufacturing sector.
Qualifications in training or teaching (e.g., PTLLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent).
Strong understanding of engineering pathways, including both internal and external qualifications (such as IRTEC).
