About the Role
The Apprentice - Accounts Assistant is an integral part of Latham's Accounts Payable team. This role will be responsible for reviewing and entering invoices, while analysing invoices for appropriate substantiation. This role will be located in our Manchester office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Other key responsibilities include:
* Exercising judgement and identifying issues that require escalation or additional care
* Reviewing invoices and visually identifying risk factors that require attention, as well as recalculating and footing amounts on invoices (e.g., quantity/price extensions and tax calculations)
* Reviewing workflow (or manual) approvals to determine whether additional approvals are required
* Reviewing accounting documents for completeness and mathematical accuracy
* Communicating with vendors and internal customers regarding requests and updating them on the progress
We'd love to hear from you if you:
* Exhibit well‑developed and professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organisational levels of the firm
* Demonstrate the ability to take initiative and work both independently and in a team environment with a customer‑service focus
* Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey department procedures and objectives in a professional and tactful manner
And have:
* 5 GCSE passes at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths
* 120 UCAS points (BBB at A level or equivalent)
