Job Description:
Summary: This is an excellent opportunity for a senior mechanical engineer to join a leading manufacturer specializing in precision CNC machined parts, serving high-performance sectors. The role involves designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical components, with a focus on technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design mechanical parts for CNC machining, ensuring functionality, tolerancing, and manufacturability (using SolidWorks)
* Apply GD&T standards for precision tolerancing of low-volume, high-value components
* Create detailed 2D/3D technical drawings and documentation for production and quality control
* Perform mechanical analysis to validate structural integrity
* Conduct thermal simulations and CFD analyses for heat dissipation and airflow optimization
* Specify surface treatments and coatings for durability and performance
* Identify and implement design improvements for performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness
* Support root-cause analysis and engineering solutions for production and quality issues
* Contribute to process improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
* Approx 5 years of experience in mechanical part design, including 3D CAD modelling and 2D drawing creation
* Proficiency in SolidWorks and engineering analysis tools
* Understanding of CNC machining processes, materials, and tolerances
* Knowledge of GD&T, DFM/DFA principles, and industry best practices
* Experience with mechanical analysis tools like ANSYS or SolidWorks Simulation
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills
* Experience with thermal simulations and CFD tools
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes (CNC, injection moulding, sheet metal, 3D printing)
* Familiarity with surface finishing techniques
Preferred:
* Professional Engineer certification
* Experience in regulated industries
* Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar methodologies
