We're seeking experienced User Researchers to join high-impact digital transformation programmes in the UK public sector and public health space. These are contract roles suited to professionals from a consulting background, confident working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
You will play a critical role in shaping services that meet real user needs, delivering evidence-based insights in line with GDS (Government Digital Service) standards .
What You'll Do Lead, plan, and deliver user research across the full digital service lifecycle.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure services are user-centred and accessible.
Apply a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods to generate actionable insights.
Produce artefacts including personas, journey maps, and research reports.
Advocate for inclusive design and represent user needs at every stage of delivery.
Support and mentor junior researchers when required.
Operate within agile delivery teams, ensuring user insight drives iterative development.
Present findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
What We're Looking For Proven experience as a User Researcher on public sector digital programmes .
Strong background in consulting or client-facing environments .
Deep understanding of GDS standards and the Discovery ? Alpha ? Beta ? Live lifecycle.
Proficiency in a broad range of user research methods.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience working in Agile, multi-disciplinary teams .
Desirable: Previous experience in public health or government healthcare services.
Exposure to research with vulnerable or underserved user groups.
Familiarity with ethics and compliance in government research.
Start Date: ASAP (interviews next week)
