Overview
We are looking for a Newly Qualified Occupational Therapist to join our in-house clinical team at Options Trent Acres - Brookfield. Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver bespoke Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will work within the standards provided in the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working, guiding your practice within an education setting and clarifying your roles and responsibilities while considering the requirements of your governing and professional bodies. You will be given responsibility for holding an occupational therapy caseload, with the full support of your designated clinical supervisor and site lead, and will contribute to staff training and consultation as required. Responsibilities
* Hold an occupational therapy caseload with supervision and site support
* Deliver assessment and intervention for pupils with developmental trauma, neurodivergence or SEMH needs
* Collaborate with the education team to integrate OT with educational goals
* Contribute to staff training and consultation as required
* Adhere to the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working and professional standards
Qualifications
* BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy
* Registered member of RCOT
* HCPC registered
* Relevant previous experience as student OT or in a previously held job
* Experience with people experiencing learning difficulties and/or neurodiversity
* Good communication, relationship, analytical and judgmental skills
* Good time management and organizational skills
* Understanding of the relationship between behaviour and communication
* Basic understanding of physical needs, dexterity, coordination and sensory skills for assessment and treatment
* Basic IT skills
* Understanding of information governance, confidentiality and record keeping standards
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Evidence of continuous professional development
* Full driving licence and access to a car
Desirable
* Experience of multidisciplinary working in a range of settings
* Experience of communicating with/working with families, relatives and carers
* Knowledge of legislation and implications for clinical practice and professional management
* Knowledge of different OT assessment tools, intervention programmes and treatment formulations
