* build tools and help chart the strategy to bring enterprise statistical computing to sell-side equity research
* own the strategy for establishing an ecosystem of stock analyst teams and other stakeholders who leverage shared tools and infrastructure to build, use, and share replicable, scaleable, and agile data analysis workflows
* manage a small team that owns, develops, and maintains core utilities that power a ‘live data analysis’ paradigm, whereby teams with diverse skill sets transform and analyze data dynamically together
* work with data and technology partners across the company
* build and maintain applications that analyze the department’s research output
* build and maintain applications that make hypothesis-driven empirical research techniques accessible to stock analysts
* partner with stakeholders across the company to support a test-learn-redeploy methodology

We are bringing hypothesis-driven empirical methods and enterprise statistical computing practices to sell-side equity research. This is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic, creative, globally distributed team positioned at the center of one of the top equity research department in the world. As a research scientist/engineer, you will be helping to establish the next frontier of sell-side equity research.Your expertise
* A track record of applying software development principles and empirical social science research techniques
* Experience with empirical research to inform business decisions would be a major plus
* Intellectual curiosity and excellent communication skills
* Proven ability to collaborate with colleagues unfamiliar with software development skills or principles
* Proven ability to collaborate and communicate with all levels in the hierarchy of the organization
* Formal training or a demonstrated professional track record in computational social science
* Formal training in an empirical social science (like economics, quantitative sociology, political science, or related field) would be a major plus
