Recruiting an Interim Financial Controller for our client to oversee the financial operations of a business unit. This role will focus on financial management, forecasting, reporting, and process improvement within the division, as well as contribute to group-wide financial initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Take full ownership of the unit's Profit & Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
* Manage the month-end close process, including accruals, prepayments, and necessary adjustments.
* Prepare and present recurring and ad-hoc financial reports, providing insights into commercial, operational, and overall business performance.
* Conduct costing and yield analysis for suppliers to assess profitability and efficiency.
Budgeting & Forecasting
* Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for the unit, collaborating with key stakeholders to gather inputs and ensure alignment with business objectives.
* Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and drive profitability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Serve as a key business partner to the Managing Director and leadership team, offering financial insights and analysis to inform business strategies.
* Support group-wide financial initiatives, including the development of tools to convert demand planning units into a financial view.
* Participate in cross-group projects aimed at aligning tools and processes across multiple business units.
Audit & Compliance
* Act as the primary contact for external audits of the bakery unit, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
* Collaborate with auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes and address any findings or recommendations.
Candidate Profile
* Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
* Bachelor's degree in an analytical or finance-related field.
* Extensive experience in financial management, including P&L and Balance Sheet oversight.
* Proficiency in Excel for managing and analysing commercial, operational, and financial data; experience in financial modeling and forecasting.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to guide and influence non-financial stakeholders.
