We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to join our Development Management service on a fixed‑term basis. As one of two Team Leaders reporting to the Planning Development Manager, you will provide day‑to‑day leadership and direction to a team of Principal, Senior and Planning Officers, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of the Council’s Development Management function. You will oversee the processing and determination of planning applications, including allocating work, signing off delegated decisions whilst managing your own small caseload of complex major and strategic applications and appeal work. The successful candidate will be a confident, capable planner with extensive Development Management experience, including handling complex and contentious applications, experience supervising or mentoring staff, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, Members, developers, stakeholders, and the public and have a proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
