Position: Shift Manager
Location: Daventry
Shift patterns: Monday-Friday. Day time hours (08:00-16:30/09:00-17:30)
Contract Type: 12 Month Secondment/Fixed Term Contract (Full-Time)
DHL are looking for a driven and people-focused Shift Manager to join our site in Daventry on a 12‑month Fixed Term Contract / Secondment opportunity. This is a fantastic chance to step into a key leadership role within a fast‑paced operational environment, where you'll play a vital part in leading teams, delivering operational excellence, and driving performance against key service and safety measures.
✅WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Managing up to 4 First Line Manager and an Administration team
* Manage operational performance on shift to achieve agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) on productivity, quality and cost
* Ensure workload planning and resourcing routines are accomplished to the required standard
* Complete all team performance reviews and 1-2-1's for direct reports and support with investigation meetings and HR Processes accurately and within timeframe
* Control absence levels on shift by robust and consistent application of absence management process
* Develop strong management capability through effective performance management, coaching, mentoring and development of teams and individuals
* Building and maintaining effective working relationships with the customer, colleagues and stakeholders
* Liaise with 3rd party suppliers to ensure a smooth work transition is carried out, in line with the customer expectations
✅THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO
* Previous warehouse management experience at First Line Manager/Shift Manager level is essential
* Proven experience of working directly with an on-site customer, supporting with regular meetings to discuss operational actions andexpectations
* Excellent communication skills - Verbal and written
* MHE Operations experience would be desirable
* Demonstrable record of delivering against targets for own area of responsibility
* Demonstrable record of leading change management projects with particular focus on site culture
* Experience of using Process Improvement techniques, CAPA, to resolve operational issues
* IT literate - Microsoft packages
