The Property and Consultancy Services department plays a key role in our organisation, by providing compliance, maintenance, and capital project services on the Council’s vast and diverse property portfolio. What We Offer You too could be part of something brilliant by becoming a colleague at Derby City Council; in addition to making a difference to the lives of people across the city, you’ll also receive: • Flexible work/life balance scheme • Hybrid working • Modern office environment • Continued professional development opportunities & career conversations • 27 days annual leave (rising to 32 days after 5 years' service), plus bank holidays • Local Government Pension Scheme • Team Derby Rewards – retail and leisure discounts • Tusker Car Benefit Scheme • Cycle2Work Scheme & free cycle training • Employee Assistance Programmes & Support • Access to a Wellbeing timetable • Access to our Equality Employee Networks – LGBTQ+, Disabled Employee Network & Carers and our Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic Employee Support Network • Support for colleagues who are carers The Opportunity In the role of Technical Support Officer, here are some examples of what you’ll be doing to make an impact: • Support in the coordination of the successful compliance, assurance, and data management of our Council’s property portfolio. • Provide support to the Finance Officer including logging and processing invoices, tracking income and expenditure, inputting data into financial systems, running and analysing reports, monitor budgets, income and expenditure. • Assist and maintain various databases and systems for monitoring information • Provide technical and data support related to the effective management of property data • Analyse and interpret data, producing reports/drawings as requested • Collate and analyse data on KPIs • Contribute towards the effective management of projects, providing technical support and data management assistance to Project Managers and other staff • Assist the Project Officer in ensuring projects follow the corporate project management methodology and that necessary project documentation is present • Raise servicing orders and schedules for schools and corporate buildings on the Property Asset Management database and issue to contractors, ensuring statutory requirements are met. • Support the Data Manager in carrying out audits of the Property Asset Management database. • Deal competently with internal and external enquiries and provide advice and assistance appropriate to the nature of the request. • Maintain and update an effective SharePoint filing system. • Assist and participate in the development and implementation of improved processes or procedures to help improve the outputs and efficiencies of the Property and Consultancy Service About You To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have... • Experience of data analysis • Ability to use initiative and to have a pro-active approach • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Great organisational skills with good attention to detail • Good level of IT usage (such as Microsoft 365) • Excellent time management skills, being able to prioritise and meet multiple deadlines. • High degree of professionalism, inclusivity, and confidentiality.
