Orion Group is working with one of the most well-known and respected civil engineering businesses in the UK to recruit an experienced and motivated Sub Agent who can strengthen their team and support the delivery of large civil engineering projects across Scotland. The projects are primarily within the energy infrastructure sector, building new substations to support Scotland's transition to net zero.

Your mission
As a Sub Agent, you will be responsible for:
* Setting a personal example in health, safety, and environmental matters by ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures through method statements, risk assessments, and briefings.
* Managing, supervising, and mentoring section, site, and assistant engineers to ensure high levels of engineering control and proper record generation.
* Maintaining good working relationships with RE staff and the supply chain.
* Adopting and promoting a cost-conscious attitude through efficient use of company resources.
* Supporting the agent in operating the cost management system, producing programs, and preparing QF.
* Communicating with commercial staff to ensure records for measurement and payment are prepared promptly and appropriately.
* Promoting the use of BIM technologies to meet project BIM Execution Plan (BEP) requirements.
* Ensuring adequate work preparation and resource availability through communication with the general foreman.
* Assisting the agent in procuring materials, sub-contracts, and plant timely.
* Reviewing performance, development, and training needs of subordinate staff, including addressing underperformance or potential resignations.
* Advising the agent of any potential commercial or contractual liabilities.
Who are we looking for?
The mandatory requirements include:
* A degree or HND in Engineering or equivalent.
* CSCS Level - Academically or Professionally Qualified Person/Supervisory/Manager.
* SSSTS certification.
* Successful experience and performance at Section Engineer level.
The desirable requirements include:
* Qualification to ICE Incorporated level or equivalent.
