About the Role
Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick is seeking a Planning Engineer to join the Sizewell C Project. The role is hybrid, requiring a minimum of two days per week at our Bristol Aztec West office. You will support the project schedule, work closely with suppliers, and contribute to a 3.2‑gigawatt low‑carbon power station.
Responsibilities
* Proactively develop, maintain and manage the project schedule using Primavera P6, integrating supplier inputs and aligning with the Integrated Work Schedule (IWS).
* Communicate key schedule information, risks and successes to stakeholders, driving collaboration and mitigation actions where required.
* Support the Project Manager by assessing delivery risks from supplier submissions, compensation events and change requests, clearly identifying schedule impacts.
* Lead forward planning and scenario analysis to understand the impact of adjustments on milestones, interfaces and opportunities.
* Review and integrate supplier schedules, providing accurate forecasting and transparent reporting to support delivery and decision‑making.
* Resource‑load and level schedules, producing resource profiles and histograms to support effective delivery planning.
* Implement and manage change control processes, ensuring impacts are assessed, approved and auditable within the schedule.
* Produce regular progress and performance reports, highlighting key metrics, period movement and emerging risks.
* Collaborate with commercial and quality teams to ensure schedule integrity, early identification of variations, and adherence to project standards.
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree qualified (or equivalent professional experience) in a relevant discipline.
* Professional accreditation such as MAPM and Primavera P6 Advanced.
* Extensive experience as a Planning Engineer on large, complex infrastructure projects, particularly in early project phases.
* Strong understanding of project controls integration, including earned value analysis and schedule‑driven delivery.
* Proven experience developing detailed schedules and coordinating interface schedules within large planning teams.
* Expert user of Primavera P6, including resource loading, levelling, baselining and reporting.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels.
* Collaborative, inclusive team player with the ability to support and mentor others.
* Highly organised self‑starter with strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in fast‑paced environments.
* Ability to gain a security clearance.
