Job Description
Our automotive lighting client based in Redditch is searching for an Optical Design Team Leader on a permanent basis, 39 hours a week.
Main Purpose:
* To provide support to optical designers to ensure a high quality of design is maintained.
Key Duties / Responsibilities:
1. Provide support to optical design engineers to ensure a high quality of design is maintained.
2. To monitor sickness, holidays, leave and grievance – first point of contact for team members.
3. Support fellow Team Leaders and promote cross team working and “get the job done” attitude.
4. Allocate and plan resource between teams to meet project timing and budgets.
5. Promote teamwork in day-to-day activities.
6. Responsible for highlighting areas of concern to Project Management through project life.
7. Ensure timesheets are completed accurately to allow analysis of costs and budgets.
8. Manage project progress against agreed budget & timing to meet customer/internal specification and requirements. Review and feedback to Project Management team weekly.
9. Provide Optical Design support when required to ensure projects are completed on time.
10. Manage flow of data from customer to supplier.
