Senior Test Engineer
Irvine, CA (Onsite)
Position Summary
Thales is looking for a Senior Test Engineer whose primary responsibility is to provide engineering testing support in the development of aircraft monuments and engineering designs developed by the Aircraft Installation Engineering team.
This position supports both production and qualification tests, including understanding designs, developing test plans, supporting test campaigns, and creating test reports. Responsibilities also include maintaining and operating test equipment, setting up test environments, and liaising with external stakeholders such as avionics authorities, Boeing, Airbus, suppliers, and test labs.

Key Areas of Responsibility
* Qualification Testing: Generate test plans to qualify racks and monuments, support and perform qualification testing, and create test reports per FAA, EASA, Airbus, and Boeing requirements. Participate in design reviews.
* Acceptance Testing: Support and perform acceptance testing for racks, monuments, and cables.
* Seat Group Testing: Backup to existing Seat Group Test Engineer, design test adapters, familiarize with test scripts and testing suite.
* System Testing: Perform lab conformities for system labs as necessary.
* Communication: Develop monthly reliability reports and presentations, communicate with external parties regarding system requirements, schedules, and design changes.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Aeronautics Engineering, or related discipline.
* Experience with 2D CAD.
* Minimum 5 years of experience with aircraft OEM documentation and understanding of FAA, Airbus, and Boeing qualification requirements. Ability to read wiring diagrams.
* Work shifts and weekends as required.
* Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and communicate technical information effectively.
Special Position Requirements
* Schedule: Core hours Monday to Friday, hybrid remote possible with at least 2 days in the office.
* Travel: Up to 25% annually.
* Physical Environment: Access to production areas, ability to carry up to 10 lbs.

What We Offer
