Vehicle and Test Rig Design Engineer - 36332664 - £27.30/hr umbrella rate (Inside IR35)
What You Will Do
* Design bespoke test rigs and components using the 3DX toolset (Catia V6), taking projects from concept to delivery.
* Create detailed 2D drawings for the manufacture of parts at internal workshops and external suppliers.
* Collaborate with customers to identify testing requirements and ensure test rigs meet the specifications.
* Liaise with workshop fitters and supervisors to ensure smooth delivery and assembly of test rigs.
* Manage and plan workloads effectively to deliver on time.
* Validate designs using methods such as hand calculations, kinematics, multi body simulations (MBS), and FEA/CAE.
What You Will Bring
* Proven experience with CAD software for 3D modelling and 2D drawing creation.
* Strong knowledge of testing methodologies related to road vehicles and vehicle architecture.
* Understanding of various manufacturing techniques and the ability to optimise designs accordingly.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently to resolve technical and process issues.
* Strong organisational skills to manage priorities and deliver high-quality results.
