Location: Scotland, Motherwell - Maxim office with travel to Argyll Substation projects.

This hybrid role is based at Maxim Park (Motherwell), with regular travel to sites in Argyll, including Crarae, An Suidhe, and Craig Murrail, and options to work from home in line with Balfour Beatty's Smart Working policy.
Role Purpose
* Be a self-motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor within the Commercial Team, delivering one of Scotland's largest infrastructure projects.
* Manage financial aspects of major, complex projects from inception to delivery, often worth tens of millions of pounds.
* Develop skills in commercial awareness, client liaison, and project management while expanding industry knowledge and negotiation techniques.
What you'll be doing
* Manage costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities on infrastructure projects.
* Procure and manage supply chain activities.
* Optimize commercial performance through diligent cost control and value for money.
* Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
* Administer contracts with clients and subcontractors.
* Support Gated Business Lifecycle processes.
* Mentor and develop junior team members.
* Drive personal and professional development, including certification.
* Manage commercial aspects of large or multiple projects.
Who we're looking for
* BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
* Membership of RICS, ICES, or CIOB (or working towards).
* Experience with NEC contracts.
* Strong communication skills.
* Teamwork and leadership qualities.
* Results-oriented mindset.
* Business and customer awareness.
* Ability to recognize opportunities and threats.
