Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Respiratory & Sleep Physiologist to join the ABUHB team. This post is for 30 hours per week and will require work across sites.
The post holder will work under the supervision of the Clinical Lead for Respiratory Medicine, providing specialist respiratory and sleep investigations, including lung function tests, sleep studies, and CPAP setups. Responsibilities include inpatient, outpatient, and domiciliary monitoring, as well as developing telemonitoring systems for PAP therapy reporting.
The primary base is St Woolos Hospital, but clinics may be conducted at other hospitals within the Health Board.
The role involves providing a high-quality respiratory and sleep physiology service, aiding diagnosis, establishing treatments, reviewing sleep patients, and interpreting tests. Candidates must have the necessary experience or qualifications.
Main duties include:
* Providing a specialist clinical physiologist service at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.
* Performing lung function tests, sleep studies, and CPAP setups for outpatients.
* Managing calibration and quality control procedures.
* Undertaking outpatient clinics.
* Planning and managing own workload.
* Conducting routine and advanced diagnostic tests and procedures.
* Interpreting lung function test results and explaining findings clearly to clinicians, patients, and carers.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally encouraged to apply.
