Job Summary
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced registered mental health practitioner to join our Patient Flow team as a Team Leader responsible for managing the Health Based Place of Safety (HBPoS) and Allocate on Arrival teams.
The HBPoS provides a safe environment for people detained under Section 135/136 for the purpose of a Mental Health Act Assessment. The new Allocate on Arrival team consists of MHSW and RMNs who will work flexibly across the hospital, according to clinical need to ensure safer staffing is maintained.
We are looking for a compassionate and motivated leader, with experience of working with people experiencing acute episodes of distress and mental health crisis (and excellent working knowledge and understanding of the legal and local frameworks and processes that are used in support of this) to provide clinical and operational leadership, and be responsible for day‑to‑day management of these teams.
This is a part time post of 22.5 hours per week, within core Mon‑Fri hours, based on site at St. Anns. All reasonable flexible working requests will be considered.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
Key Responsibilities
* To provide visible, supportive and consistent leadership
* To lead with enthusiasm and act as a positive role model to promote a culture of compassion, inclusion, and professional development
* To provide day to day management including staffing, supervision, incident management and review
* To work collaboratively with Clinical Site Managers and Ward Managers
* To work closely with Trust Mental Health Legislation Office to ensure compliance with legal frameworks and requirements for this clinical area
* To be a point of contact and work closely with Dorset police and to ensure HBPoS clinical practice is in alignment with legal frameworks and Right Care, Right Person national partnership agreement

* Applicants who require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position
* You will be required to undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course, and it is a condition of your employment that you successfully complete all aspects of this course; if this is not achieved you will not be able to commence working in the post
