We are looking to grow our Invest NL team and have opportunities for two Senior Building Standards Surveyors, Environmental Health Officer and a Planning Officer/Senior Planning Officer.

You will play a key role in shaping the future of North Lanarkshire. Your responsibilities will include:
5. Providing bespoke advice to potential developers to assist with the statutory consent process to facilitate increased investment and deliver positive outcomes.
6. Assisting in the delivery of an effective service for Built Environment; dealing with all aspects of the Building Standards function including carrying out building warrant assessments, site inspections, dealing with dangerous buildings and working closely with Private Sector Solutions colleagues. Your good communication skills and proactive customer service approach will ensure you provide a professional and solutions driven service to architects, developers and other customers including the supervision of the day-to-day operational building standards and enforcement duties in support of the overall management of the team.
7. Contributing to the review of and further development of the end-to-end process for statutory consents to improve the efficiency of the statutory consent process in North Lanarkshire.
Qualifications and Experience:
Senior Building Standards Surveyor
8. Degree or equivalent in a Building Standards related discipline
9. RICS/CABE Chartered Building Standards Surveyor
10. Considerable experience in Local Authority Building Standards setting
11. Experience of plan vetting and assessment of major projects
12. In-depth knowledge of building regulations and all other legislation allied to the Building Standards function together with varied experience and an understanding of the construction industry.
13. Awareness or familiarity with current and upcoming development pressures such as data centres is desirable.
14. Current driving licence is desirable
15. The successful candidate will be required to participate in an out-of-hours standby service
